I thought local authorities and housing associations
were all about finding homes for homeless people?
Both Cardiff Council and Cardiff Community Housing
Association (CCHA) are firmly focused on meeting housing need in
the city. While a part of our network is certainly concerned with
those in most desperate need, we provide housing for a wider range
of people.
On the rentals side, as landlords we are all about
making sure local people can rent good quality properties at reasonable
rates from a reliable, regulated landlord with clear maintenance
and housing standards.
Who is CCHA?
CCHA has a long history of providing housing for
local people, particularly in Adamsdown and Splott. Our homes are
mainly for rent and we invest heavily in the communities they are
part of. Unprecedented market conditions mean we are expanding our
role to work with the Council and housing developers to make sure
people who want to buy their homes can do so in this great city of
ours.
